Our Journals
The Pasifika Medical Association Group owns two medical journals: the Pacific Health Dialog (PHD) and the New Zealand Medical Journal (NZMJ). Both journals are fundamental in providing research and written pieces from the health and medical industry, both in New Zealand and in the region.
Pacific Health Dialog

The Pacific Health Dialog (PHD) is the Journal of Pacific Research for the Pacific region and a valuable resource for health professionals globally. It is the only Medline listed medical and public health journal published specifically for Pacific Island countries.

The PHD promotes all research pertaining to the Pacific region with a particular focus on Community Health and Clinical Medicine. Although the initial focus of the journal has been community health and clinical medicine, PHD has published across a broad range of topics including Pacific Island economic development, education, employment, social services and politics.

New Zealand Medical Journal

The New Zealand Medical Journal (NZMJ) is the principal scientific journal for the medical profession in New Zealand. The Journal has become a fundamental resource for providing research and written pieces from the health and medical industry. The first edition of the NZMJ was published in 1887, marking the beginning of a rich 136-year history. It was a key asset of the New Zealand Medical Association (NZMA) up until July 2022.

It is now owned by the Pasifika Medical Association Group (PMAG).
